Project objective was to expand Account Link support to include Microsoft Dynamics GP.
My Role
The project team included a contracted developer working remotely in the Eastern Time Zone, while I managed the project from the Pacific Time zone. To ensure effective collaboration, I scheduled weeklky project status meeting, recorded meeting minutes, and distrubuted summaries with actionable tasks for stakeholders to address before the next meeting. Using RACI matrix, I ident ified and communicated responsibilities for each stakeholder, ensuring all deliverables were clearly assigned and tracked. My responsibilities included project scheduling, coordination of cross-functional communication, and ensuring the timely resolution of technical issues.
Project Result
The project was successfully delivered on schedule, with the updated application fully compatible with Microsoft Dynamics GP, meeting the client’s requirements. This outcome demonstrates my ability to manage distributed teams, coordinate across time zones, and ensure accountability using structured project management practices. The support of Microsoft Dynamics GP improved sales for customers that required integration between Maximizer and Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Learning Outcome
Challenges arose with the contractor’s communication style, as concerns were voiced privately rather than during team meetings. To address this, I created structured opportunities for raising issues in team discussions, reinforced the importance of open communication, and held one-on-one check-ins to encourage more constructive participation. This improved transparency and reduced misunderstandings.
